JJ & Andrea at the Park: Understanding Sales Tax is a 32-page illustrated hardcover that teaches kids why a $3.00 hot dog costs $3.30 at the register. JJ and Andrea head to the park with their pocket money, run into sales tax for the first time, and figure out together how to check a total before they pay.

Each book in the Accounting for Grade Schoolers series is a short adventure. After the story you get a “What we learned” page, practice sheets, and a 5-question exit ticket.

  • Kids learn: price tags vs. checkout totals, percent in plain words, paying the right total.
  • Why it matters: the total can change at checkout. Kids see why and how to check it.
  • Practice: quick problems with step-by-step solutions.
